Twin Client Feature: Darcie, Lenny, Nolan & Hayden

Darcie reached out when Nolan & Hayden were 18 months old. They had a goal of having the twins sleep independently in their cribs for the whole night!

  1. Prior to working with Kyla, what were your child’s biggest sleep challenges?

    Prior to working with Kyla, our twins were bed sharing with us. And waking up multiple times during the night. Putting them to sleep always took 30-90 minutes of struggling. And when the kids went to bed we also had to go to bed for the night with them because they would always wake up shortly after multiple times needing us to help them go back to sleep.

  2. What made you decide to reach out to Kyla?

    We were at our breaking point. Struggling to put the twins to bed at night (especially when it was just one of us). Taking over an hour for them to fall asleep and then having no alone time away from them. Our mental health needed the help and support.

  3. What was the process like working with Kyla?

    The process working with Kyla was so simple. We had an initial meeting where she would get to know us and the twins routine and determined the areas where we were struggling and needed the support. She then came up with a sleep plan to transition the kids to their cribs and help them with self soothing. Kyla was always just a text away with any questions (which I felt like I had a million). She supported us so we never felt like we were alone. And made us feel so comfortable when we were always so hesitant to sleep train the kids.

  4. How has sleep training benefited your family?

    Oh my goodness! Our lives have changed for the better! Bedtime routine is so quick! We are not struggling to fight the twins to bed and we have a life during the evening now where we do not have to go to bed for the night with the kids. We are sleeping better during the night. Not being woken up a million times. And the kids sleep so much better also. Whenever they wake up during the night they easily settle themselves back to sleep without the need for our help.

  5. What has been one of the biggest changes you have noticed since sleep training?

    We have noticed the twins are a lot happier during the day, less cranky (other than days when they are sick of course). But overall they sleep better, they wake up happy instead of waking up crying now and are less tired during the day.

  6. What would you like other parents to know about working with a sleep consultant?

    If you’re hesitating just do it! It has saved our mental health. We as parents are happier towards the kids. Having the support of a sleep consultant made the process so effortless and smooth. All our questions were answered and she was right there whenever we needed her!

  7. What is your best advice for new parents?

    Ask for help when you need it! It might seem hard. But even just a bit of help and support saves your mental health and makes you a better parent around your kid(s)!
